Post Road Tour Placemats

Description: 14" wide x 9:" high placemats. The placemat is illustrated by Lloyd Ostendorf. It has the same description and art work as the jumbo post card.

Over 1,000,000 placemats were used. Phil Wagner conceived the idea and had Ostendorf draw the Post Road concept to try and get tourists to travel round trip from Springfield to Athens to visit the Long Nine Museum, to New Salem, then back to Springfield on Route 97. Phil commissioned Lloyd Ostendorf to do the work and when Phil told the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, they wanted to sponsor this program, so Phil sold them the original, but kept some positives and negatives.
