Lincoln Post Road metal signs

Description: A road sign directing traffic over the mail route used by the Post Office from New Salem to Athens to Springfield, Illinois. This is art work by artist Lloyd Ostendorf, used by the 3M Company to manufacture the signs. It shows Lincoln boarding a stage coach. The signs are 24" x 30". They were placed each mile to and from New Salem.
