Published in 1937. The late James Hickey used some of this family lore for his publication of The Three R's in Lincoln's Life ~ Rogers, Riggins and Rankin. Colonel Matthew Rogers was the first Postmaster of this area and Riggins and Rankin married two of his daughters. John Harris was the great-grandson of Colonel Matthew Rogers.
