From
James Hickey's research, "The Three R's in Lincoln's Life"
~ Rogers, Riggins and Rankin.
Description:
This is one of the few pictures with Lincoln and Ann Rutledge together
as drawn by Ostendorf. He used a picture from the Rutledge family
to get his detail of Ann in this ink and wash. (The picture was
of a female relative.) The ink and wash shows Ann seated in front
of the Rogers home, a short distance northeast of Athens, and Abe
with his boot on a stump. They are both holding a book.
