Easter Seals of Central Illinois

"Ornament of Hope"
Decatur Landmark Series

Proclaimed the official city ornament by Mayor Michael Carrigan and the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce. With each donation, you will help individuals with disabilities through Easter Seals in your own community. Proceeds from ornament sales go to Easter Seals of Central Illinois for programs such as Speech and Physical Therapy. Agrability, Childcare, Respite Care Medical Equipment Lending, Summer Tutoring, Social and Job Training for people with developmental disabilities. Best wishes for a happy holiday.

2008 Ornaments

 

Easter Seals began in 1949 as Illinois Association for The Crippled, Inc. located in the Milliken National Bank building. On March 29, 1949 the organization filed notice as a non-profit group. On October 2, 1964 the organization officially changed the name to Macon County Easter Seals Association and was located at 1768 N. Main. On November 8, 1868 the Association merged with the surrounding counties of Christian, Moultrie and Shelby and DeWitt County. The Association is now known as Easter Seals Central Illinois and includes the counties of Piatt, Christian, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Logan, Macon, Moultrie, and Shelby. The office is currently at 2715 N. 27th Street, Decatur, Illinois.


Easter Seals provides exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.
