Lincoln's Tomb

Abraham Lincoln’s final resting place is captured in 24-karat gold over brass in the 2002 Official City Ornament for Springfield, Illinois. Springfield artist Kathy Feraris designed the ornament, which depicts the tomb’s obelisk, its statues, and the years of his birth and death. These ornaments were issued in a limited edition of 7,500 pieces. An enclosed signed and numbered certificate briefly recounts the story of Lincoln’s unexpected death and the six-year process of building a suitable burial place for the beloved president.
