To many, the most memorable building in the reconstructed village is the wool house, where yoked animals walked on a large wheel to power the carding mill. A drawing of the mill by Illinois artist Karen Williams has been adapted for the design of this 24-karat gold-plated ornament, and a signed and numbered certificate with a brief history of New Salem accompanies each ornament. |
